Rooted in tradition. Made with love.
I'm a scientist in oncology by day, but my deepest questions have always come from watching my mother navigate autoimmune disease. That experience drew me toward natural healing and back to my Malayalee roots in Ayurveda. A course at the Kerala Ayurveda Academy deepened that path. There, my teacher Revathi said something I couldn't unhear: "Your skin is your largest organ — your protector and barrier from the outside world. Everything you put on your skin is digested by the body. So with that knowledge... would you eat your makeup? Your skincare products?" That question became this brand. I started making lip balms for myself and the people I love — slowly, intentionally, with real feedback from trusted hands. Everything since has been built the same way. This came together through community: the name from a beloved aunty, Reshmi; the logo brought to life by my dear friend and artist Hannah McMaster; and the whole thing kicked off when my friend Kylie Foo invited me to vend at the Progressive Asian American Christians National Gathering Night Market — with my partner Kyle by my side helping make it happen. That night was the nudge I didn't know I needed. We believe what you put on your body matters as much as what you put in it — and that ancient wisdom and modern science are partners, not opposites. This is just the beginning. I'm so glad you're here for it. Reach out to info@sharusayurvedics.com for any questions.
